Frequently asked questions
Anyone can be on Airbnb as a host or guest, provided they are at least 18 years old and their identity is verified. However, there are other important restrictions, such as not being affiliated with dangerous organisations and complying with legal and local regulations for short-term rentals, including specific rules for hosting depending on location.
All guests must verify their identity by providing a government-issued ID, such as a passport or driver's license. The depth of background checks can differ significantly by location.
Hosts can also screen guests manually by carefully reviewing their profiles, checking reviews, and sending direct messages to ask questions.
